Salty-Sweet Potato Far

I don't have much to say about this one. It wasn't a favorite though Gary wanted to like it. He tried really hard but couldn't do it. It needs something, cheese maybe? It was dark so I couldn't even get a good picture. Moving on to next week's recipe and holiday cooking. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  1. I chose to skip this one, and from the reviews it’s getting I can’t say I’m sorry! Yours does look good…sorry this was not a winner. I just couldn’t wrap my thoughts around potatoes and prunes! I decided to post the rice pudding and caramel apples, which I missed because of vacation!
Happy Thanksgiving, Guyla!! Enjoy your day!

  2. Yep, it needed something - but Gary sounds like a good sport.

  3. I think it's unanimous this week Guyla - we wanted to like it but it was lacking.

  4. Guyla I think you cooked it just right.. you got a lovely rise and everything. If yours wasn't pleasing I don't think anyones would be.

  5. This was definitely NOT my favorite recipe, but as you say, let's just move on to next week. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Guyla! (By the way, cheese doesn't help...)

  7. Definitely needed *something*. Was bland and the texture was off.

  10. I am almost embarrassed that I ended up in such a minority category but as usual, "gotta keep it real" :) Actually, the thing is, the version I was wolfing down was the cauliflower one I made. I had one good sized spoonful of my potato version and left that for the guys as I tried to focus on the low carb version. I had thought it was pretty similar but that the potato one was simply more "bread like". My younger son said the cauliflower version was more souffle like. Imagine all that cream I added helped the cause. Nana and I are up in Vermont for Turkey Day with all our guys. Lots of effort and craziness to get up here but very worth it now that we have arrived. All the best to you and yours for a wonderful Thanksgiving !!!

  11. Agreed! This one was pretty boring. Hopefully the french toast will be better. Happy Thanksgiving!

  12. I added cheese and it didn't really help, unfortunately. Not one I'll be revisiting, either. It's too bad, because it's a lovely looking dish.
