Fresh Fruit Tartine |
A friend gave me a bottle of chocolate balsamic vinegar and it was perfect for this fruit tartine. I can't wait to make it for her!

I have a bottle of chili infused olive oil that I drizzled on the chopped avocados and sprinkled toasted pistachios on top. Add salt and voila, delicious! Gary wrapped it in a flour tortilla and loved it. We'll do this one again!
Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and concern for we Okies through the crazy weather of the past couple of weeks. The El Reno tornado came much closer to us than the Moore tornado had and we experienced some flooding. We've come out okay and had decided to take up the carpet in the den anyhow! The flood just got us moving! I did not know it could rain so hard. Hopefully, bad weather is behind us for this season. Its been exhausting!

ReplyDeleteLove your take on the pistachio avocado - a little kick from the olive oil must have been lovely. You're the second person to bring chocolate balsamic to my attention. I think I'm going to have to make some before the strawberries disappear.

The little things in life, like a great Dorie recipe do make us appreciate how simple pleasures are best- no ? And this was a simple pleasure indeed though your other fruit options have me wondering when I can retry it with those :) We just adored this one.

I hope that putting together some delicious treats was a comforting way to culminate a rather disasterous and uncomfortable week or two. Although your water damage could not have been pleasant, I suspect you are feeling very fortunate. How do people start again the second time??? I also liked both these recipes. I didn't use pistachio oil either and am intending to buy some and make the avocado recipe again. Wrapping it in a flour tortilla sounds good also. And, so does the chocolate balsamic vinegar. You have a nice friend!
