Pioneer Woman Nantucket Cranberry Pie |
About a year ago, before I discovered pinterest, I came across a recipe for cranberry coffee cake while surfing the net and gave it a try for a ladies coffee date at my house. We all loved it and I made it a couple of times before moving on to something else and it totally went off my radar. Until I saw fresh cranberries in the grocery store recently. Now I can't find the same recipe.
I found this one from
The Pioneer Woman and tried it today. Its good but its not quiet what I'm looking for. But this one is worth a try. The topping is a lot like a crumble with a delicate almond flavor. The one I had before was a bit more like coffee cake.
If anyone has a recipe for cranberry cake, pie, or coffee cake please let me know!
I just made Dorie's Cranberry Upside Downer from Baking. It was terrific! You might want to check it out--either in Dorie's book of from the Tuesdays with Dorie post here: http://www.playinghouseblog.com/2009/11/cranberry-upside-down-cake.html
ReplyDeleteI made Emily Luchetti's version of Cranberry Pecan Upside-Down Cake
ReplyDeletehttp://emilyluchettiblog.com/tag/pumpkin-pie/. It's not a coffee cake per se, but it was fabulous! Your cake may not be what you were looking for, but it still looks good!
Isn't it frustrating to lose a recipe that you love? I was going to suggest the same one that Peggy did. Good luck finding it!
ReplyDeleteI have a few recipes for coffee cakes in my site, one with pears and chocolate and another with figs. There´s a great coffee cake made by the Baked boys, Lottie + Doof has the recipe.
ReplyDeleteThis one looks very good, all crumbly and fruity!
Here are two links that might be an option for the cranberry coffee cake you´re looking for. Isn´t it annoying when you can´t find THE recipe you want?

May I suggest a recipe for a Cranberry Cake as well - it is Dorie Greenspan`s Spiced Cranberry Bundt with fresh as well as dried cranberries, five-spice powder and greek yougurt. I made that Bundt for a group of my best friends last fall and it was the best cranberry cake I ever made - honest, you can find the recipe and reviews on epicurious.
ReplyDeleteI still have leftover cranberries from Dorie Greenspan's pumpkin cranberry bread. I'll have to give this pie a try!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hate when I lose a favorite recipe!!! My girlfriend made a yummy cranberry coffeecake for our cookie exchange a couple years ago...I'll see if she still has the recipe.
